That Is Not The Song We Are Dancing To: Imagining a Demonstration

The exhibition explores negotiated forms of collective agency under conditions shaped by global violence, structural inequality, and ongoing states of crisis. At its core is an inquiry into how resistance might be conceived when established forms of protest reach their limits. The exhibition is part of a long-term, collaborative process in which FLINTA artists from diverse backgrounds come together within an open, workshop-like framework. The works are not understood as autonomous or resolved positions, but as provisional articulations—moments of condensation within an ongoing process of exchange, negotiation, and collective thinking. Rather than presenting a completed exhibition, the project takes shape as an evolving constellation. It operates as an in-between state: a space of experimentation in which collective imagination, resistance, and possibilities for action are continuously questioned and renegotiated in relation to contemporary conditions. The exhibition is therefore not an endpoint, but a moment within an unfinished process. It remains open, porous, and in motion—continuing to develop through encounters, exchanges, and the practices that unfold beyond the exhibition itself.
